Jennifer Openshaw was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 6th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business for her work as Co-Founder and President of WeSeed and Women’s Financial Network. She was also a finalist for Best Entreprenuer for Service Businesses – Up to 100 Employees.
Openshaw is a long-time advocate for families and working Americans and a nationally known financial author, advocate and commentator. In 1999, Jennifer founded Women’s Financial Network, a financial services company designed by and for women. Her second financial services company, WeSeed, was founded with the idea that real people, not just Wall Street gurus, can participate in the stock market. The goal is to empower people to learn investing by starting with the products and services they already know and love.
The Stevie Awards were created to recognize the achievements of organizations and business people worldwide. Created in 2004, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business is run by the American Business Awards. Last year’s winners included Maxine Clark, Founder and Chief Executive of Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Heather Rooney, President of H2 Marketing, named Best Entrepreneur in Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations.
